Meet the Owner
Hi there. I’d like to introduce myself. I am Tobias Cook. Husband to my best friend and dad to two super fun, albeit, crazy boys. I am also owner and operator of Redefine Painting & Design. An excellent painting company that serves Bend, Sunriver, Redmond and all the beautiful areas in and surrounding Central Oregon. Hopefully, you will soon be calling me your painter.
No one wants a complete stranger in their home so let me tell you a bit about myself. I am a Bend, Oregon native. I had the privilege to grow up here. I attended Bend High School and then at 17, I was crazy enough to leave. We all have to find our own adventures and our own way home, right? Those adventures led me throughout Oregon and then to Southern California. That is where painting became a career choice for me. I had a background in oil painting and some art school and when I needed to work my way through college I began painting murals here and there. Soon, I started a professional house painting company in Southern California. Fortunately, I had some friends who were general contractors. They took me under their wing and taught me about interior & exterior painting, home renovations as well as the business side of things. They threw all their overflow painting projects to my painting company. I made sure not to disappoint them. My background in artistic painting and my propensity to focus on details provided me with a competitive edge in the painting business. It wasn’t long until my painting company took off and I was traveling all over San Diego County working on interior & exterior painting, home remodels, kitchen cabinet refinishing and specialty murals and high-end specialty finishes. Bidding all scales of paint jobs both large and small. Meeting great people along the way.
Of course, the girl I proposed to on Catalina Island was from Redmond, Oregon so my surfing days in Southern California were short-lived. After college and a few years later, my wife and I returned to the Pacific Northwest. We landed in Southern Oregon and spent many years enjoying the view of the hills surrounding us. There I was fortunate enough to build a thriving painting co
mpany from the ground up. Over 13 years of painting experience, an excellent work ethic, and clients that soon became more like friends made my work both enjoyable and well-known throughout the Rogue Valley. I was ranked as one of 3 top painters in all of the Rogue Valley. A couple of kids later and our desire to be near family all led us back home to Bend. Now fast forward and here I am, rooted deep in this lovely high desert, still missing the surf, but grateful for the mountains to climb, the rivers to fish and float, the trails to run and all the camping and outdoors a guy could dream of. Not to mention, a great place to raise my two very energetic boys. I couldn’t be more thankful to be part of the community of Bend.
